Alexandra Amparo would like to wish every American a happy Independence Day. Why is this one of the most important days that is celebrated in this country?
When the United States declared independence from Great Britain on July 4th, 1776, it slowly became a land of ‘Dreamers’ who came from all over the world.
Whether the people come from England, Spain, Russia, Brazil, Japan, Nigeria, and many more countries, they all have the desire of making their dreams come true. Even as the Pilgrims arrived to the New World, they were still migrants, seeking to pursue their dreams in a foreign land.
There are many reasons why people immigrate to the USA, some are escaping oppression, some resisting cruelty, and some provide for their families. Many of those people come here with nothing and triumphantly achieve great success.
This is what America stands for.
Unfortunately, there are still individuals, even in such a great country with a very low sense of integrity.
There exists abusers, terrorists, thieves, killers, human traffickers, and many more criminals that are ignored and even protected by institutions that are supposed to represent love and respect for human beings.
Many innocent American families at some point are put in risk of harm, poverty, and even death due to the actions of evil individuals.
People who thrive off of ruining the American Dreams of other people set our nation back.
As long as we contribute to the world in good ways, pursuing our ‘American Dream’, we can then fully realize how powerful our rights are as Americans.
America offers many rights that other countries don’t:
•Freedom speech
•The land where hard work can garnet big achievements
•Freedom to choose and practice your religion
•The place where you are free despite your sexual orientation.
There are amazing benefits about becoming a part of this amazing country.
Happy 4th of July to all of us that love the United States and what it stands for.
