Benjamin Millepied is a French dancer and choreographer who lived in New York City while working with the New York City Ballet since 1995. His prominent role was in the 2010 American psychological thriller drama Black Swan.
Millepied's extraordinary dance skills caught the attention of Jerome Robbins, an American theater choreographer, director, dancer, and producer who mentored Millepied.
Milleped's other most notable roles include joining the New York City Ballet from 1995 until 2011. During his time there, he took ballet dancing roles for renowned films such as Barbie in the Nutcracker and Barbie of the Swan Lake. In 2011, Millepied also took the position of impresario when he founded and directed the LA Dance Project.At the LA Dance Project, he collaborated with classical composer Nico Muhly, producer Charles Fabius, Matthieu Humery, and classical composer Nicholas Britell.
